"more here than there" interpolates a line from Bruz Fletcher's song "Drunk With Love": "Someday she'll walk out my door/I guess that's what doors are for"
A special thanks to JD Doyle for providing research, resources, and recordings regarding Billy Tipton. Please check out his work over at Queer Music Heritage! queermusicheritage.com/

The soundtrack for this video features piano recordings from my great-grandfather Bill Vuono as well as original pieces and songs of mine, with performances from Hans Bilger (bass), Alexander Dubovoy (piano), and Dexter Stanley-Tauvao (drums).
It also features covers of "The Best Things In Life Are Free" (DeSylva/Brown/Henderson) and "Ramona" (Gilbert/Wayne) as well as Billy Tipton's version of "The Man I Love" (George/Ira Gershwin)

Voice training resources that were most helpful for me as a binary trans woman:
@ZoeyAlexandria's "Whispering Siren" exercise: ua-cam.com/video/F6Noi2qERus/v-deo.html
The entire @TransVoiceLessons channel, but specifically these two videos:

But, as I highlight in this video, one of the most helpful things for me was listening to a lot of voices I admired while watching this frequency tracker so I could learn about the "melody" of feminine- and masculine-perceived voices: www.speechandhearing.net/laboratory/ampitch/

use your real voice lol
no, you look and sound like a man. I can tell, sorry
I very rarely comment here on YT, but here i had to. Such a beautiful and well made video. Great vibe and very interesting historical facts. I actually cried in the end. Thank you so much and safe travels on your journey.
Thank you for showing your journey
This wasn't wasn't what I was expecting (although I can't remember what I was expecting), but I'm pleasantly surprised nonetheless. Coming out recently as transfem to my friends and family at eighteen years old has been a wild ride, to say the least. I've loved singing my whole life, but refuse to let anyone hear my singing voice because I'm ashamed of it. Hopefully someday I can achieve that voice I imagine in my head. Beautiful video. ❤
Having asperger's I am absolutely appalled by him trying to put it on people like me. What a fn terrible person. Fk homophobia and fk pogo.
I think when people know you’re trans, even if they’re not outright transphobes, you get treated differently from other people of your gender. To most cis people it negates some aspect of full womanhood/manhood. Knowing paradoxically stops cis people from fully understanding you, they can’t see you as just another man or woman; you’re a third category of othered person
For what it's worth: You're a beautiful couple x
......
If we are to respect each other's choices then we must also respect each other's opinions. Feminism is evil. It is a cancer on society.
Yikes.
I wonder what Abe Lincoln would say about this woke bullshit
When I look up Bubbles from Angry Birds as in "orange angry bird" or Bubbles the orange bird, this guy would pop up too! That's how I found out about him
I just got into muppet babies unironically, when I found out, that Gonzo is voiced by the same voice actor who voiced Shoutmon (Ben Diskin). I just have Shoutmon in my mind everytime Gonzo speaks lmao Personally I don't mind baby gonzo wearing a dress. *But yeah! Companies and potential creeps should stay away from children if they're going to have such wild takes! Such as trans panic and child queerity*
moved to berlin from ukraine three years ago, it's night and day here as a trans person!!!! although to be honest we have been making leaps in that area in ukraine during the last few years! i know a few people who were able to change their legal name and gender marker in a few months in Kyiv
For some odd reason .. People with alot of problems in their lives seem to latch on to issues that make them feel better about themselves. Racism bigotry and various other social issues seem to draw in broken people like a moth to flame... Often privliged people have had life so easy that their guilt causes them to latch onto any movment that gives their life meaning ... This is why so many privliged college kids are willing to ruin their lives protesting ... or speaking on racial issues that they really have no buissiness talking about ... I grew up white in a very diverse area of Florida. Racial issues seem much bigger when you are removed from these people and didn't grow up around them. I remember kids on the schoolbus casually trash talking eachother making racial jokes and not getting bend out of shape about it. If anything it was a way to learn about eachother or even understand why something might be seen as racist.. But now we have white people who have always been around white people... terrified of being seen as racist ,scared to do anything out of fear of being seen as a bigot.. People's lost attempts to be seen as a good person ultimately only divide people.. You don't fix the world by forgetting its past. And by your other videos your in no place to preach
Another video by a white lady about racsism 😅
Splash Mountain is "racist" so lets retheme the ride to a salt mine where slaves used to work. That's not racist at all.
Audrey and Seymour are my fave t4t couple
you’re so based
I used to be really wary of age gap relationships because of some things I saw unfold in the people around me, people I love who got hurt but that was a long time ago, there were outside factors to those situations and they also just aren’t my experiences. Im realizing that this is just something I’ve been needlessly judgmental of. Also want to shoutout Harold and Maude, big age gap but probably my favorite romance movies ever.
I am late to the party but what a wonderful video ! Thank you for your work, insights and overall presence.
Phobes are closeted.
I thought this was going to be a fair, well thought out video on this issue but it's clear that you're just a SJW. Your video started off well but then you started talking about the "alt right" and Trump reveals how this is just dumb.
What's weird is how awful and predatory Disney has become yet this is the target.
Homophobia is complete nonsense. No one is scared or intimidated by homosexuals. It's just a leftist term to villainize people who disagree with that ideology.
Whatever helps you sleep at night, champ. ;)
@@Erik-fn7kj wow. What a solid rebuttal. You've totally changed my mind.
@@maverick3677😘😘
What an awful video filled with nonsense and bigotry.
Oh yeah, Tiana's Bayou Adventure is so much better. It only works for 30 minutes and breaks down...with people. DEI bullshit!
0:51 what is the tune? I know I should know it and it's making me crazy that I can't bring the title to mind.
I suspect he's a homosexual himself.....
Yeah, yeah, yeah, every homophobe is secretly gay, we're just doing it to ourselves, blah blah blah.🙄 Anything to help your straight ass sleep at night.
This video hits so close to home for me. Being a hobbyist music producer who was largely inspired by Pogo growing up, and later coming out as trans. My feelings about him are complicated. It feels like I got betrayed by him in a way. All I can hope to do now is continue to find my voice and identity through music and make something more positive and impactful. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this video! It means a hell of a lot to me.
The look of the ride, theme wise is a downgrade in my opinion. The water tower doesn't look right
hi, i didn't know i really needed to see this video today. i started my transition for real this year, still have not been prescribed hormones or blockers even. i craved that feeling of connection with people from our past. i need to read and learn a lot but now i know where to start. thank you ✌️💛😽
I'm glad this video provided comfort in some way, it helped me a lot many years ago to learn about trans and non-binary people throughout history. Wishing you the best with your transition!
Been going to Disney a long time. Have to say I always just enjoyed the attractions while at Disney. It is a place of imagination. I never read anything into the rides, never looked for politics and such in them. I so enjoyed Disney back then. Seems the world has turned any ;and everthing into feelings issues. I went to Disney to get away from the world. Now the world has invaded it . Its harder to enjoy Disney these days. People in the entertainment industry need to focus on that. That is what you are good at.
I respect Pogo more, thank goodness. Thought for a moment something actually homophobic had been said.
There was one broadway production of little shop in 2003, but it was the only one
Oh look. The Alphabet Mob continually thinks it’s above criticism. …. while itself criticizing everyone not in their cult. Get over yourselves. You’re not sanctified. You’re not even close. The person talking in this video needs to consider how abusive the ALT-LEFT is. That includes radical feminism and the Identity Cult.
Get over yourself. 😂
I don't know if you were a gay bear, you were too cute even back then. More of a gay cub...
I mainly described myself as a cub back then but for the purposes of quickly describing what a gay bear even is I didn't want to get too into the nuances of vocab haha
Why do gay older men go after younger men
Bare Necessities is S
this is absolute lunacy
This is one of my favourite video essays
You always hit the nail on the head with how I’m feeling! About gender, about change, about Disney. Thank you for making this!!!
I'm really glad I wasn't the only trans person that felt welcome in the city, I loved the time I spent there and I desperately want to return
This was the first video essay that made me cry. Thanks for sharing all this and to do it in such beautiful way
Thank you for this, I have found it both informative and entertaining. I first came across you on TikTok so seeing this video pop up in my feed was a major plus. This is a very important aspect of the trans voice which is seldom spoken about and I wish I had this video at the start of my transition it would have made life much easier in understanding about my voice.
I think something else to mention when you said people sound different in vlogs vs videos is that a vlog is often life and a video is a presentation. Like look at vlogbrothers, that is absolutely not how they talk in a conversation. People always have multiple voices. I have a customer service voice, phone voice, tired voice, meeting new people voice, being empowered or confrontational voice. Its incredibly normal for everyone to present in different ways at different times and the voice is one of the main things we can do thay with.
im totallyn NOT crying watching this /s (the connection you feel with any other trans person throughout time and space)
really beautiful short film you made. and it really does capture the feeling of being trans in germany. things could be way worse (and thats tragic) but they also could - should be so much better (i guess thats just all society ever. but you're really hyperaware of it when youre in one of the vulnerable minorities)
I want to leave the US for a number of reasons but I'm struggling to figure out the best place to move. I'm autistic, trans (masc nb), and gay and I have family in Lithuania so I immediately was considering moving there but I know that many people there can be old-fashioned and closed minded. I'm going to do more research on germany and the rest of Europe. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate them...
Denmark is also very good. May be biased because I went to Art School there (as a german NB) Here the main response you get to NB is "what the hell is that / im overwhelmed by these new designations" but i havent really seen real hate or dismissal
As a German, I wouldn't pick this place. The last couple of years the far right party has gained more and more popularity (even among younger people), especially in East Germany. Sadly, people here don't learn from history...
You've shared so many important life lessons. Thank you!
Great video!
